Fractional Delay Filter

Fractional Delay Filter

Jun 09, 20261 min read

A fractional delay filter is a Filter that delays a Discrete-Time Signal by a non-integer phase shift μ.

  • Since discrete-time systems can only shift by integer samples, fractional delay must be approximated by interpolation between samples. Common implementations include Lagrange Polynomial Interpolation and the Farrow Interpolation.
