A Partition of a Sample Space is a Set of Events that are Disjoint that form the Universe

$$\text{Partition}(\{A_1,\dots ,A_n\})⟺\forall i,j\in [1,n]\text{ s.t. }i\ne j,A_i\cap A_j=\varnothing \wedge S=\bigcup _{i=1}^n{A}_i$$
