A pseudo-noise (PN) sequence is a deterministic binary sequence that is designed to appear statistically random. It has a flat Power Spectrum and low autocorrelation at any non-zero lag, like white noise. But unlike true noise it is known and reproducible, so the Receiver can generate the identical sequence and use it to despread the signal via Cross-Correlation.
